Monday, April 25, 2016 : HOLLAND HERO YACHOU TAKES DOWN THE WORLD POKER TOUR TOURNEY OF CHAMPIONS
Netherlands pro takes home a brand new Corvette Stingray and $381,600.
It's been a great – and profitable – weekend for Leuuwarden, Holland professional poker player Farid Yachou, who took down the inaugural Monster World Poker Tour Tournament of Champions Sunday, claiming a brand new Corvette Stingray and the main prize money of $381,600.
He also took home a Hublot King Power Unico Titanium watch, an Aurae Solid Gold MasterCard, a pair of gold Monster 24K Headphones, a custom premium poker table from BBO Poker Tables, and a seat in Tiger's Poker Night Presented by World Poker Tour….a slew of rewards totalling an additional $150,000 in value.
The win in such a big tourney was remarkable, considering that it was only his second major competition – the first was WPT Amsterdam last year.
And he was playing at a final table that included daunting professionals like Michael Mizrachi, Noah Schwartz and Jonathan Jaffe!
The departure of Mizrachi at third for $140,450 heralded the heads-up play between Yachou and Romanian pro Vlad Darie, with Yachou holding a slender lead but firmly in control.
The head-to-head encounter lasted just 12 hands, and was convincingly won by the Dutch player, sending Darie home with the runner-up prize of $224,190.
Other final table cashes included:
4 Jonathan Jaffe $95,400
5 Noah Schwartz $74,200
6 Darren Elias $58,300
