Friday April 17,2015 : RESORTS' NEW ONLINE GAMING LOUNGE PROVES POPULAR (Update)
Management merges online and in-person gambling.
The sixth Atlantic City casino to introduce online gambling, Resorts Casino Hotel has taken a further step in merging in-person and online gaming by launching its Internet Gaming Lounge Thursday.
Owner Morris Bailey told the Associated Press news agency that he hopes the lounge will familiarise punters with internet gambling by merging the two genres in a relaxed, player-friendly setting.
Interested players can open internet gambling accounts in the lounge before playing on the company's online gambling website at Resorts Casino.com, which is fully tested and licensed by the New Jersey regulator. They can also fund their new accounts whilst they are there, ensuring they have no problems with miscoded credit card transactions.
Bailey is of the view that in-person and internet action are complementary and do not compete with each other.
"Some people fear the competition of online gambling to the brick-and-mortar casino. I think it's going to be an asset," he said Thursday.
Discussing the new Resorts internet facility, he said that it would help traditional brick and mortar gamblers better understand and feel comfortable online.
The new lounge is well staffed with trained employees capable of assisting punters with the online and mobile registration, depositing and playing experience.
The facility provides small tablets for use by guests, and the walls carry large video touch screens so that players can familiarise themselves with table and slots games provided by online gambling software supplier NYX Gaming, which is partnering Resorts in the New Jersey online market.
Resorts is also teaming up with Pokerstars, which is currently awaiting licensing from the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement
