It has been almost a year since PokerStars Pennsylvania made its debut. Now the online poker room is gearing up to celebrate its first birthday with the launch of a brand-new poker tournament. Hot on the heels of the PACOOP last month, PokerStars Pennsylvania is currently running its 1st Anniversary Series. Which is set to conclude on November 16. Check Out Pokerstars Now.
The 1st Anniversary Series Kicks Off
The new poker tournament has been designed to run just after the anniversary of PokerStars opening shop in Pennsylvania. This was on November 4. It began on November 8 and runs for a total of nine days. Instead of running on the actual anniversary, PokerStars decided to delay the competition. Reason being so that it did not clash with the Presidential Election. With a November 8 start date – accounting for delayed ballot counting. The PokerStars Pennsylvania poker room just about made it.
The Main Event Spans Two Days
While several US online poker games and competitions are currently on the fly with the 1st Anniversary Series, it is the main event which is going to attract all the attention. It takes place on November 15-16 and will include a $100 buy-in, and a $200,000 guarantee. At the same time, a Mini Main Event (with a $25 buy-in) will run alongside the main event.
The tournament has already caught the eye with its lucrative tables. On the opening day, a $100,000 guaranteed, $100 buy-in Sunday Special took place, followed by a $500 high roller event the following days. The event is set to be capped off with an 8-Hand Phased $50 event on the final day.
There Is Still Time Left to Play at PokerStars Pennsylvania
PokerStars has run poker tournaments at their Pennsylvania poker website before. However, the Bounty Builders, The Championships, and other more seasonal events have run alongside those taking place in PokerStars’ New Jersey site. The 1st Anniversary Series is solely aimed at players in Pennsylvania though. With nothing else quite like it found elsewhere.
All the games in the 1st Anniversary Series are evening affairs. With poker games taking place from 6 pm to 10 pm daily. Turbo, PKO, 6-Max, Hyper, and 8-Max events are currently ongoing, and any Pennsylvania resident with a hankering for poker and a PokerStars account can, in theory, get themselves involved in some of the available competitions. With the tournament set to end on November 16, though, you might want to move fast.
