NCAAF Betting: Oklahoma-Tennessee in Tasty Week 2 Matchup
Friday September 11,2015 : NCAAF Odds: Oklahoma, Tennessee Face Off in Biggest Match of Week 2
There might be a lot of cupcakes on the Week 2 college football schedule, but there will be no pastry on display this Saturday (6:00 PM ET) when the No. 23 Tennessee Volunteers welcome the No. 19 Oklahoma Sooners to Neyland Stadium. Tennessee is a 1.5-point underdog at press time. BET THIS GAME
One Volunteer who won't be showing up is starting defensive tackle Danny O'Brien. He's been suspended for an undisclosed violation of team rules, and head coach Butch Jones won't say when O'Brien will be allowed back. Safety LaDarrell McNeil will also miss Saturday's game with a neck injury, although he could return for Week 3 against Western Carolina.
While this is considered a rebuilding year for the Vols, they'll be dangerous against Oklahoma. The Sooners have fallen behind Baylor in the Big 12 pecking order and have turned for help to new offensive co-ordinator Lincoln Riley, who’s “Air Raid” attack produced a 41-3 victory over the Akron Zips in the season opener. Baker Mayfield, the former starting quarterback at Texas Tech, looked very good against Akron and could have a repeat performance against Tennessee's thinned-out defense.
