MLB Game 4 : Mets vs Cubs

Wednesday October 21,2015 : MLB Odds: Matz, Hammel Take to the Hill in the NLCS

The Chicago Cubs and New York Mets will square off in Game 4 of the NLCS on Wednesday night at Wrigley Field. The pitching matchup will pit youth against experience.

The Mets will send out 24-year-old Steven Matz, who has had quite a debut season. He not only got the win in his first start back in June, but he went 3-for-3 at the plate and collected four RBIs as well. He suffered a torn lat muscle mid-season, though, and ended up making just six starts. Still, he finished the regular season 4-0 with an ERA of 2.27. He started in the NLDS and took a loss against the Los Angeles Dodgers, but it was a decent postseason debut. Matz gave up only three runs in five innings.

The Cubs will counter with 33-year-old Jason Hammel, who allowed two runs in three relief innings in the Cubs' 6-4 series-clinching win over St. Louis in the NLDS. Hammel was 10-7 in 31 regular season starts with an ERA of 3.74. He made one start against the Mets this season, tossing eight strong innings, allowing a run on five hits. First pitch is at 8:07 PM ET.
