Thursday July 21,2011 : PlusEVPoker provides a new vehicle for players trying to recover their money
The operators of the PlusEVPoker.com information website have launched a new initiative to help poker players trying to recover monies lost or frozen through company failures or enforcement actions.
Dramatically dubbed StolenBankrolls.com, the purpose of the new website is to get a better idea of how much poker money is locked up from government seizures as well as poker sites and e-wallets that have gone out of business.
"Our goal is to use the data we gather to build more awareness about the current plight poker players face in an unregulated market," a spokesman said this week. "Through compiling this data, we hope to keep players updated about any news related to their stolen bankroll in addition to building media coverage, and convince the people in power that the current status quo is bad for the players, the companies, and the government."
The company stresses that it requires only basic information about the player and where his or her bankroll went "missing in action".
The company does not want any sensitive personal information such as bank numbers, phone numbers, or any information that players may feel might compromise their security.
The site at http://www.plusevpoker.com/stolen-bankrolls is displaying the current totals that poker players have submitted thus far to StolenBankrolls.com:
