Online gambling licensing jurisdictions collaborating

5/10/10 – Two of the industry’s most high-profile licensing jurisdictions, Alderney in the Channel Isles and Kahnawake near Montreal in Canada have announced that they will interact with one another on matters of common interest.

In a joint announcement the Kahnawake Gaming Commission and the Alderney Gambling Control Commission revealed that they has signed a Memorandum of Understanding

"Kahnawake Gaming Commission and Alderney Gambling Control Commission sign Memorandum of Understanding “…which will provide an efficient and reasonable channel for the exchange of information and material with respect to past, existing and prospective licensees for the purpose of ensuring effective regulation between both jurisdictions.”

The specifics and extent of the collaboration were not made clear   The KGC and AGCC have agreed that the specific content of the MOU will remain confidential.

The KGC is arguably the largest licenser of online gambling companies in the industry, with hundreds of internet gambling sites owned by scores of major companies bearing its logo and subject to its regulations and authority.

Whilst thought not to have as many licensees, the AGCC has built up a formidable reputation in Europe for effective regulation and is widely respected, enjoying UK advertising white-list status.
