FREITEZ CROWNED EPT GRAND FINAL CHAMP
Unorthodox but effective style of play
Venezuelan poker pro, Ivan Freitez took the grand prize at the European Poker Tour (EPT) Grand Final held at the Casino Gran in Madrid this week.
Freitez earned Euro 1 500 000 for his efforts along with the title in what is described as a show of "unorthodox, but effective high-stakes poker" culminating in a heads-up against German Torsten Brinkmann.
In related news, Portuguese businessman Fernando Brito (52) was awarded the EPT Player of the Year after putting in a consistent performance throughout Season 7.
