Thursday November 24,2011 : FINNISH POKER ACE SCORES ON NOSEBLEED TABLES
Sahamies the king of the virtual felt in Pokerstars high stakes clashes
Just a day ago, we commented on the lucrative high stakes poker heater being enjoyed by Finnish poker ace Ilari Sahamies, who was closing in on top leaderboard player Rafi Amit; overnight Sahamies has enjoyed more success and now occupies the lead position.
Playing 836 hands, mainly on the Pokerstars $200/$400 6-Max tables against several players including Peter Chan and Jens Kyllonen, Sahamies ended the session up $426,000, taking him to $2.1 million in profit this year and overtaking Amit's $1.8 million. It was one of Sahamies best sessions yet.
The session was a punishing experience for Chan, who ended it down $536,000 in his 672 hands on the site – mainly lost to a rampant Sahamies – which wiped out the $400,000 in earnings he had managed to accumulate earlier in the week.
