Lankester (now 51) joined Sacco's company after meeting one of the sports betting operator's employees on the CanAMex marathon car rally across America and Alaska in 1986 and was soon a key manager in the billion dollar enterprise, with which she remained until 1994 despite persistent raids and other enforcement activities.

The film is based on Lankester's experiences and will be adapted for the big screen by World Trade Center scribe Andrea Berloff.
