Bill A8554 NY State For Regulation of Daily Fantasy Sports

Wednesday November 4,2015 : NEW YORK STATE JOINS CALL FOR REGULATION OF FANTASY SPORTS (Update)

Bill A8554 introduced in New York State Assembly.

New York lawmaker Representative Felix Ortiz has filed Bill A8554 for the regulation of fantasy sports betting in the New York State Assemblywhich simply adds “fantasy sports gaming” to the existing state gambling code.

If the bill is passed, daily fantasy sports would fall under the New York State Gaming Commission effectively allowing the authority to regulate and implement improved customer protection within the DFS sector which has experienced a  meteoric rise in popularity.
