Friday, October 14, 2011 : SMS Lottery, 6/48 Lottery and now an online gambling website for Kenyans
Amaya Gaming Group Inc. (Amaya) launched a new online gambling website to Kenyan residents accessible at BetKenya.com this week.
The website is an integral component of the company's agreement with the Betting Control and Licensing Board of Kenya (BCLB) to operate online gaming in the country.
BetKenya.com currently offers slots, table games, instant games, poker and other card games provided by Chartwell, with additional content to be added in the coming months.
Usage of the site will be monitored by the BCLB as it evaluates the merits, potential and prevalence of online gaming.
David Baazov, president and chief executive officer of Amaya Gaming Group said: “BetKenya will provide the Kenyan government with a new source of revenue and a new capability to oversee online gaming activities in the country, while still allowing its residents to enjoy a world-class gaming experience.
“Amaya now operates three distinct gaming solutions in Kenya, having launched an SMS lottery and a 6/48 lottery earlier this year. We are very pleased to further strengthen our presence in the country and demonstrate our range of capabilities.”
