Tuesday January 22, 2013 : BETFAIR TRANSITION FROM ONGAME POKER NETWORK IN MOTION
Gradual migration will take place over six months
Our readers will recall Betfair's confirmation earlier this month that it was to switch in a controlled, planned manner from the Ongame poker network to that of Playtech's iPoker. Internet reports indicate that the process is now in motion, with new players able to sign up only for the iPoker version of the company's online poker offering.
Existing players have a choice to stay with Ongame or switch, as Betfair intends to gradually withdraw from the Ongame offering over a period of around six months. By then it will have completed its transition to iPoker, taking up a position with other major operators on the top tier of the network.
Last week Ongame, which is now owned by Amaya Gaming group, discontinued its tiered player pools.
