Millions of Euro's allegedly spent on gambling
A 39-year-old German banker reportedly took Euro 8.4 million from customers over a three year period to feed his gambling addiction.
A Stade District Court heard the man took and pocketed cash from customers' accounts 156 times instead of investing the money has he was entrusted to do.
According to thelocal.de, amounts ranging from between several hundred to several hundred thousand, which disappeared between 2007 and 2010, were spent on online gambling and at a Hamburg casino.
According to Prosecutors Euro 4.5 million of the misappropriated funds had already been "paid back".
Charges of breach of trust, fraud and falsification of documents were filed with the court and the trial is set to continue on August 21, 2013.
