Friday August 2, 2013 : NEXT NEVADA ONLINE POKER ROOM COMING SOON
South Point's new Real Gaming online poker site building a player base
Nevada's next licensed online poker room to launch could be Caesar's WSOP.com in collaboration with 888… or South Point's self-developed operation Real Gaming.com, which this week started encouraging players to register as a precursor to a launch, although like rival Caesars, the operation has yet to release a specific date.
Land casino South Point has obtained the necessary intrastate licensing from the Nevada regulator, enabling it to prepare for launch by getting prospective players to register and be verified. As long as they play from a location within the state, punters visiting from other states will be accepted.
Although South Point was among the first companies to achieve Nevada online poker licensing, it was slower off the mark in developing its proprietary software and lost the "first to market" advantage to Station Casino's Ultimate Poker.com, which uses subsidiary Cyberarts software and this week announced it had dealt its 10 millionth hand after just three months of real-money operations.
Caesars spokesmen have said that their WSOP.com offering will launch sometime this [northern hemisphere] summer; like South Point, the website is already pre-registering players.
