Young Scot wins Champion of Champions event.
The Pokerstars UK and Ireland Tour Champion of Champions competition was appropriately named for David Vamplew this week; only a day after winning the EPT London main event for GBP900 000 and a EPT Grand Final seat , the 23-year-old Scottish pro triumphed over eight other UKIPT winners.
The winner-takes-all event took place at the Metropole Hilton in London, and pitched Vamplew against champions from the tour's first season in a sit & go contest with a prize truly worth having – a seat at every stop in Season 2, including the Grand Final at EPT London next year.
For Vamplew the prize represents yet further opportunities to build on his rising reputation as a skilled and disciplined professional poker player ready for the international circuits.
Powering through to his latest victory, Vamplew bested Padraig Parkinson, Joeri Zandvliet, Gilles Augustus, Andy Couldridge, Femi Fakinle, Jamie Burland, Nick Abou Risk and Max Silver.
