NCAA Warns on Daily Fantasy SPorts Betting

In the United States, the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) has made a clear statement on daily fantasy sports betting, warning college athletes that they will be penalised if found betting on  daily fantasy sports websites like market leaders DraftKings and FanDuel.
 
The warning came from the NCAA’s vice president for regulatory affairs Oliver Luck, who said Tuesday that any athletes caught gambling on college sports will be subject to a one-year ban, and lose one year of eligibility.
 
That was followed more specifically by a tweet from the Mississippi state athletics director, Scott Strickland, who warned:
 
"Any athlete found to be gambling on college sports (includes daily fantasy such as Draft Kings) automatically loses a year of eligibility."
 
However, industry observers have pointed out that most DFS operators have so far steered clear of offering markets on college sports, although there has been some noticeable advertising at college events.
