South Point Nevada Online Poker Launching

Anticipation grows as another Nevada licensee closes in on a launch date
 
With Ultimate Gaming's Nevada online poker site attracting a growing number of players, and the recent news that CIE's offering WSOP.com will probably be launching in October, there are now indications that a third Nevada online poker licensee is closing in on a launch date.
 
The Las Vegas-based South Point Hotel Casino & Spa's online poker licence was granted back in August 2012, and the company has been building up its proprietary online poker software capability for some time, missing its original 2012 target for a launch.
 
Earlier this month the poker information site Pocket Fives posted: "Just announced that South Point will brand its real money poker site as Real Gaming," a reference to a new brand created by South Point CEO Mark Gaughan for a proprietary poker client developed in-house.
 
South Point's chief operating officer Lawrence Vaughan has in the past said that his company's "home-grown" operation was built with Nevada regulations front-of-mind, and incorporates a slew of consumer and other protections.
 
It is understood that Global Cash Access is Real Gaming's payment processor and will facilitate cash outs and deposits.
 
Another indicator that a launch may be imminent has been recent marketing efforts designed to get players to register in anticipation of the commencement of real-money operations.
 
South Point has been operating a play-for-free website at South Point Poker.com for some time, using the reportedly clumsy Zen Entertainment software, although Gaughan has made clear that real-money action would not be powered by that company..
