Australian Basketball broadcast via multiple digital platforms
 
Sports media company PERFORM will enter the multi-platform digital rights space through an Australian-first launch of live NBL match coverage across multiple digital platforms, the firm announced this week.
 
The multi-year deal with Basketball Australia is effective from the 2012/13 NBL season and allows PERFORM to broadcast every NBL game live across the internet through mobile, iPad and PC.
 
Kristina Keneally, chief executive officer of Basketball Australia said: "This is a landmark deal in Australian sport – the very first of its kind in our country. The increased visibility the NBL will receive from Network Ten's live game coverage coupled with PERFORM's digital, mobile and online broadcasting will be a boon for our sport nation-wide."
 
Chris Mutimer, managing director of PERFORM Australia said: "The deal sees our international digital broadcast capability launching in Australia, and establishes a unique end-to-end solution for sports focused on driving new revenue streams."
