PokerStars has introduced Time Tourneys

Wednesday, October 19, 2011 : PokerStars steps up the pace with new Time Tourney poker initiative.
 
Online poker giant PokerStars has introduced Time Tourneys, a new initiative giving time-stretched players alternative options.
 
Time Tourneys run for a predetermined amount of time ranging from 15 minutes to 3 hours long, and when time runs out, players who still have chips on the table are awarded a portion of the prize pool based on their stack size.
 
The new feature is accessible through the TOURNEY tab in PokerStars' lobby and specific Time Tourneys are marked with a stopwatch icon.
 
In related news, PokerStars has launched its Asia Poker League (APL) into the Asian poker market providing players with daily tournaments against other regional opponents.
 
The league will run a points ranking system with highest scoring players earning a slice of a $500 cash prize pool.
