CORE GAMING ACQUIRES U.K. GAME DEVELOPER

Thursday September 8, 2011 : Betlow bought for undisclosed consideration

The Leamington Spa, UK games developer Betlow Limited has been acquired for an undisclosed consideration by the newly formed content development company Core Gaming.

Betlow has been trading in the UK since 2008 and is a preferred developer and integrator for several high profile operators including 888 Holdings, Ladbrokes, Bet 365, SportingBet, Bet 24 and NordicBet.

Recent game releases include 75 and 80 Ball BetBall Bingo to Ladbrokes and Hold ‘Em or Fold ‘Em to SportingBet, Bet 24, Bet 365 and NordicBet.

The acquisition forms part of an expansion plan by Core Gaming, a firm recently established by Steve Murray and James Grenfell with an eye on both land-based and online games development and integration.

Murray was part of the team responsible for the success of the venue-based game developer, Games Media and its subsequent sale to Scientific Games in 2006.

Murray said this week that acquiring Betlow is the first part of a plan to create a ‘one-stop games shop’ for land-based and online operators, bringing together the best constituents of the two channels to build a new breed of games for the future.

“The integration of Betlow into Core Gaming combines considerable experience of designing original and branded content for both terminal and online applications and powerful, enduring relationships in both the land and web-based gaming industries, “ Murray said.

The Betlow team, under the direction of managing director Justin Chamberlain, has delivered over 50 titles during the last 3 years.

“The knowledge sharing and synergistic developments will enable land-based experience to be taken online and Internet related know-how and creative skills to be transferred into venues," said Chamberlain.
