Sunday October 25,2015 : WORLD SERIES OF POKER CHAMP WINS THIRD BRACELET
Jonathan Duhamel the victor in the $25,000 buy-in High Roller at WSOP Europe.
On Friday 2010 World Series of Poker main event champion Jonathan Duhamel added another Euro 554,395 to career earnings that now exceed $17.5 million by taking down the $25,000 buy-in High Roller event at WSOP Europe.
Almost as importantly as the cash, he also claimed his third World Series of Poker bracelet to enter the exclusive club of players who own multiple winners’ bracelets.
The event attracted an entry field of 64 players, generating a prize pool of Euro 1,584,000.
The Canadian pro bested a final table that included ace players like Davidi Kitai, Mustapha Kanit, Sam Chartier, Christoph Vogelsong and Fedor Holz.
When third-placed Mustapha Kanit busted out for Euro 227,145 it set the scene for triple bracelet holder Davidi Kitai and Duhamel to face off in the heads up with evenly matched chip stacks.
Playing aggressively, Duhamel gained an early advantage and leveraged it into a 3 to 1 lead. At one point Kitai managed to close the gap with a double up, but Duhamel kept up the pressure to extend his lead and slam the door on any hope Kitai may have had of overtaking him.
The win gave Duhamel his third bracelet and sent Kitai to the cashier to collect a runner-up prize of Euro 342,620.
This is the second WSOP High Roller event that Duhamel has won; his second bracelet and almost $4 million in cash came from the $111,111 buy-in One Drop High Roller earlier this year in Las Vegas, where he bested 135 entrants.
Other final table cashes included:
Samuel Chartier Euro 160,775
Christoph Vogelsang Euro 121,020
Fedor Holz Euro 96,625
Timothy Adams Euro 81,420
