Asian giant targets European market
The Isle of Man government’s Department of Economic Development has announced that Asian online sportsbetting giant 12Bet has been granted a licence, and intends extending its activities into the European market.
12Bet is a major multi-lingual online sports gaming platform that offers thousands of events and competitive odds for live betting across the main bet types.
Primarily focused on football, 12Bet covers over 75 football leagues and on average 7,000 events per month. Around 3 400 of these events are available for live betting. 12Bet is also currently the sponsor of Sevilla FC and official gaming partner to Newcastle United FC.
Rory Anderson, chief executive officer of 12Bet Europe said: “12Bet is well-known in the Asian market and we wanted to extend our reach into Europe. We believe the Isle of Man is the perfect platform from which to do this. The Island is known for its firm but fair regulation of remote gambling, and we found the authorities very responsive and helpful throughout the licensing process.
"12Bet aims to provide an exciting product range with a competitive pricing structure and we are looking forward to working with partners on the Island and developing our business further.”
Garth Kimber, head of e-Gaming Development, Isle of Man Department of Economic Development, said, “12Bet is the seventh company to go live under an Isle of Man gaming licence in 2010. We look forward to playing our part in the success story of our latest licensee and are confident that the growth the Isle of Man’s e-Gaming sector is experiencing will continue apace in the months and years ahead.”
